Hands to Call All-In ... preflop
Generally, are there certain hands that you should call if an opponent (who has fewer chips than you) goes all in? I personally think the lowest hand I might call with would be J-10s but I'm not sure.
What are your oppinions?

I think it depends
Really on how low the guy is on chips. If he is truly the short stack and it looks like he was waiting for anything decent to go all in with then I might call if no one else does with a marginal hand... although I don't think J/10 is it. I would call with any pocket pair probably 8 or better or maybe even less like J/10 if suited, if it wouldn't damage me too much.
If the guy isn't that short-stacked and it looks like he might be fairly strong or maybe just moderately strong and hoping to either steal the blinds or hope to get a marginal caller - I usually like to have an ace in my hand. That way if he has two high cards and no one hits you win or if he has a pair and doesn't improve and you hit the ace you win. The benefits of an ace in your hand in that situation, in my humble opinion, cannot be overstated.
So there ya go. My two cents.

I've called all in preflop with 74s, and was convinced that I was taking the best of it.
This question is so ridiculously situational that it absolutely cannot be answered.. like Dave said, there are times where it is unequivocally correct to call with any two cards, and (well, in tournament play) times where it is basically unequivocally correct to FOLD any two, including AA.

well definatly the assumed hands like:
AA
KK
AK
AQ
AJ
KQ
KJ
QQ
JJ
10 10
9 9
But i would also call on almost every pocket pair and suited connectors.... i would even call on 5 2 because i seem to always get lucky whit that hand

I don't bother with pocket pairs lower than QQ. There's no point. At BEST you will be even money to win. At WORST you will be a 24-1 dog.
A low pair is for sure stronger than 87s in such a situation. You're worse than even money to win even if the other guy only holds a 92o... (right?) You can't expekt to get a flush or a straight.

Like Dave said - if he is in last chance saloon and he's hoping to steal the blinds to keep himself alive - then I will call with most things. If it is less that 25% of my stack and I have a pair (of anything) I will raise. So often people will go all in on two high cards.
