Harrington Volume III?

Postby JRM4833 » Tue Apr 11, 2006 3:23 pm GMT

Anyone hear any news on when Volume III is going to come out? I've read the first two volumes twice already and am looking forward to the third installment. Haven't seen anything recently on the net about it.

I'm not sure when it's coming out, but the book will be quizes only. The book is full of different scenarios with multiple choice answers I believe.

Yeah I heard that. Should still be very good IMO. The problems at the end of his chapters always make for good bathroom reading material. :D

Will there be correct answers? I thought the answer to every poker question was, "it depends".

I'm fairly sure that there will be answers. If you have a individual and unique situation, there's usually one answer better than the others.

His answers in the first two books were very good IMO, and sometimes couched with the condition that there are other ways to play something. Often he says something like, "a call would work here, but a raise of half the pot would be my move ... and I couldn't really blame someone for going all in here either." But sometimes a fold is the only real play that makes sense and he comes out and says it. You're right though ... there aren't many "right" answers in poker and I think he is pretty straight about that.

This book was delayed to press. It should be out sometime in late June or early July.. :)

The release date I see online is May 30, the same day that Sklansky and Miller's NL book comes out. Negreanu's book should be out on Sept. 26 of this year.

Volume III is very informative and analyzes a lot of very famous hands from televised major tournaments. I'd give it 4 stars out of 5. As good as Volume 1, and only slightly worse than Volume 2.
