Help buying first set ...
I think I'm going to order 1000 of the 9.5 gram composite dice chips from 5StarDeal.com ($60 bucks is too cheap to pass up) ... Can anyone recommend a good color scheme and chip denomination? 400/300/200/100 sounds logical.

... I like how the black, green, and purple look. I'll probably go for 4 colors and dunno what would look nice together. The orange looks a little ugly and I'm not sure I like how the red looks.
Any suggestions? (We usually play 10 people tournaments/cash games with .25/.50/1/2 and sometimes 5 chips)
Thanks

If you are buying 1000, I personally would definitely go with 5 colors...it will give you themost versatility and allow you to color up in your tourneys. The standard colors would be something like white, red, green, black, purple (1,5,25,100,500). I would prefer the blue to the purple, but thats just me.
If it were me, I would go 300 white, 300 red, 200 green, 100 black, 100 purple/blue. If you go four colors, I would go 350 red, 350 green, 150 black, 150 blue/purple.
And unfortunately, it looks like you missed out on the .06 a chip deal...its back up to .08/chip.

Thanks for the reply ... Fortunately even though they're back to .08/chip, there is a $15 off promotion so the set is just $65, instead of $60 ... I'm kinda sick of the standard white/red/green/blue/black ... I like how the chips looked in some early episodes of the WPT, which I think was black/gray/yellow and I can't remember what else ... Anyone have these chips and know what looks good?

OMG! 5Star actually ended their perpetual 25% off offer.
Don't fret, there's one last chance, go to http://www.pokerchipshopping.com/ and use the Promotional code of PCS 25 (it will be automagically entered into your cart when you first enter the site. Their 25% off offer goes until the end of May. (Oh yeah, this is the same company as 5Star, they're both owned and operated by Trademark Services).
