Help me out here
3 players, Texas NL Holdem:
SB is in for 1
BB is in for 2
Player 3 raises to 4
SB calls 4
BB reraises to 9
Player 3 is all in for 15
SB call 15
BB reraises all in.
Is BB's reraise all in allowed? SB has effectively called BB's raise to 9 already. Can SB be raised again by BB?

Re: Help me out here
Yes it is allowed.
When Player 3 went all-in for 15, he effectively raised 6 on top of the current bet of 9. Since the previous raise was from 4 to 9 (an increase of 5), this raise of 6 re-opened the betting for all subsequent players.
Had Player 3's all-in been for 14 or less and therefore constituted just a call or an under-raise, if the SB chose not to raise, the BB could only call or fold since his last raise from 4 to 9 was the last action that re-opened the betting.

Re: Help me out here
Thank you mate.
I was player 3.
I was trying to help out player SB. He, in fact, disagreed with me. We had another bet about who was right or wrong. I owe him a fiver, lol.
Never mind, it was a fun game!
Good luck in your game.

I'm intrigued as to what cards you were holding that was bad enough to only call a min-raise to 4 rather than go all-in but be good enough to then re-raise all-in once other players had raised? I can only assume you called the initial raise to 4 with a monster hand like KK or AA?

Re: Help me out here
SB had AJ, BB had KK, I had 88.
Pub tournament game, about 15 out of 30 players still left in, spread over three tables. I needed to double up fast.
I was hoping to raise SB out of the play and take on BB hoping he had an Ace and high card.

I misread your post - I thought you were the SB.
With 7.5 big blinds, you should have open shoved your stack by the way..............

In theory your advice is right halfsugar, but be aware this is a pub game and therefore its often not about 'going deep' and often more about 'being consistant'.HalfSugar wrote:with 7.5 big blinds, you should have open shoved your stack by the way..............
In my experience, pub poker often has wierd rules which f*ck up the whole game.
ie. If the pub game is based on a league table - the op may only needed to finish in the top 14 to win the league etc and therefore shoving may not be the correct option.
or
My local has this stupid rule that when you get to the final table - everyone starts afresh with 1,000 chips. This is to make it fair as the small stacks were moaning that they were being bullied by the large stacks. I stopped playing poker at my local when this rule was introduced.

Needless to say, I have never played pub poker and on the back of your post, never will!
I heard another classic where there is a pub with a rule that if you bust within the first hour you can rebuy HOWEVER you come back in at the end of the hour with just a starting stack. This leaves you with something like 4BBs
