Help your favourite mod =P
Well, the time has come, I'm 22, have just started a very good job, have finally got a bit of money, and need to go to Vegas!
I'm from the UK so we're talking quite a big holiday in June/July 2004 with a friend possibly. I'm still at the planning stage but some of u guys must have some inside info on the best places to stay/play/visit etc.
I've never been to a casino before so I'll have 'sucker' written all over me but wot the hell, u have to start somewhere, and where better than Vegas?!
Seriously tho, I can budget a reasonable chunk of money to this and I want it to be something memorable so any ideas/suggestions would be awesome.
Thanx guys.
- Andy
PS. Carson and Adam, u guys go there on road trips right? We should go for a beer and a game

Let us know when!
Just let us know when, and I'm sure we'll be there! I suggest staying somewhere on the strip. Carson and I usually stay at Harrah's. They aren't too expensive and they have a nice little area outside where you can play blackjack and watch live music. It also helps that Carson gets comps from them all the time.
As far as poker goes, we're going to the Bellagio. Maybe there are a few other places worth hitting up (namely the Mirage), but the Bellagio is a place you can sit for twenty hours playing poker and have a good time.
You don't need to visit anywhere in particular during your first visit to Vegas. You just need to wander around and gawk at things. I suggest the Venetian for gawking.
Maybe you should come down earlier for the WSOP? We'll definitely be there then. Hopefully be in it, if one of us can win a $1K satellite.
On a side note, have you ever been typing something on your computer and suddenly realize that you've unconsciously been chanting the word "Vegas" over and over?

Any other ideas?
I've not played in Vegas either, but figure to get out there this year one way or the other. I keeping hearing that the Mirage is a great place to play. Someone posted a while back who'd hit most of the cardrooms on the strip over a 3 day weekend--you might want to dig that up.
There are special rates on the internet (check out TravelZoo) all the time for weekends or longer in Vegas. You can stay on the strip without spending a whole lot. My favorite is the Aladdin. But the only place I've ever hear anyone say they'd never return to was the Excalibur--and I don't even remember why.
