Heres a serious question.

In a ring game you have a very loose player who is min raising or 3 betting every single pre flop on the flop he is over betting. The few times you have seen him show down he is holding garbage winning garbage but still garbage.

Do you play tighter, or maybe start seeing the flop on a few hands you would not usually call a min raise or a 2bet with. In hopes of hitting the flop and taking a large pot from the aggressor ? Like A7 off or K9 off hands like that .

Every time I am at a table with a player like that I am tempted to play a little looser myself just in hopes of hitting. The few times I do I miss the flop and have to fold when he/she comes out with a big bet on flop knowing he is probably holding nothing . So I usually just keep playing the same as I was before the LAG sat down and just pray I am the one who gets to take his money.

It gets frustrating when you see a idiot giving his chips away and you never get the cards to grab a piece of that action. Thursday at casino had a player like that he bought in for the max buy in 4x in 12-15 hands or so. Same player took all his chips 3 of the 4x someone else got his last buy in. I never got a hand to even have a shot at taking him down.

Call more and raise less is advice I often hear for dealing with a LAG.

That being said, I tend to just try to play every hand the best I can taking into consideration the players that have already acted and the ones yet to act. I would take into account that the LAG will affect some of the other players. Some will get more LAG'ish themselves in an attempt to snap off the money spigot. When most at the table are doing so, it is correct to open up your range some. You want to be playing better starting hands then they do but that is a relative thing. Take note of the players that tighten up instead, don't duel with them without a big hand.
