Holdem (casino rebuy), Bristol
The Triangle Casino (on clifton triangle) now runs pot limit rebuy tourneys, on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. Buy ins are £20 Mon and Thurs, then on Sunday there's £10 and £50 . Rebuy period lasts 90 minutes, with four rebuys and a top up at the end. The cash goes to the top four.
I'm building up my bank roll at home games and on internet (fingers crossed), so i've not been yet. If anyone has played there it would be great to get some more info on what it's like. Is it full of fish, or is every world class players in the south west down there?
See you at the tables some time soon.

....losing my live game virginity......
Just a note to my fellow forum readers and Bristolians in particular, i've played this tourney once now and it was great fun, shaking like a leaf for 3 hours and coming in 8th out of 40+ in my first every live game! Go me... it would have been higher but for the fact that i messed up on the whole "verbal declaration being final" thing... in future i won't be saying:
" nah, i call"
That little "nah" cost me close to 10,000 chips when by accident i folded what would have been a split pot. Idiot : know the rules before you play, thats the problem with an apprentership in online play, i was string betting and under raising and over calling all night without even knowing what i was doing!
Next time.. oh next time....
see you round the green

Triangle Tourney
Yeah no probs, how funny, all the way to bournmouth, you guys are dedicated! First off check out the bristol homegames post i made, for details of our poker meet up group, we hold regular no limit texas tournements with a friendly crowd in and around bristol.
As far as the triangle is concerned, it's a bit of a funny one, it's a pot-limit texas holdem game with £20 + £2 entry and £20 rebuys for the first 90 minutes, for this you get 1000 chips and the blinds start as 25/50. It was summed up recently on our site as suiting two types of players: mad gamblers with unlimited bankrolls who are willing to push it all in every time in the hope of building a stack, and tight players who don't bother bluffing the calling stations.
I've had some fun in my time, but there can be a nasty atmosphere, depending on who is playing.
in short it's far from perfect but well worth checking out.

The first bit is exactly like the Torquay game. There is a lot of action and you have to play really tight and not get sucked in to playing small pairs or suited connectors. If you do someone will raise the pot and you will be up against a big bet to see cards.
The latter doesn't seem to be the case. The atmosphere down in Torquay was very pleasant.
One thing that was strange was they have the rule that whoever gets drawn in seat 1 on any table has to deal for the whole game.
Another thing - they have some really big cash games there - all crazy dealer's choice playing all kinds of strange variations. Some big bets flying around - in the thousands.
I'm going to start a thread...
