Holy Crap!

Postby Junk Pocket » Tue Apr 06, 2004 3:41 pm GMT

A local sporting goods store had a sign out front saying "New shipment of poker chips!" So I stopped in to see what they would have knowing they would be way over priced. Sure enough, they had the stripped dice chips in the display case with a price tag of 19.99 for a roll of 50! That would be $400 for 1000 chips. Holy mark up! They also had the suited chips in a platic rack, 100 chips, 25 of 4 colors 44.99.

The thing that kills me is they are selling out!

Before I ordered my chips, I was looking around locally and found a billiards store that sold poker tables as well so I decided to give it shot. I gave them a call and sure enough they sold chips! I didn't even ask him how many types or what the price ranges were I just jumped in the car and headed that way. After walking the store a couple of times I asked the guy behind the counter where all the chips were. He pointed to a table with one pack of 50 on it. They were the standard 11.5 striped dice composite ones. He wanted $30 A ROLL! As I was heading for the door he advised that that was the best deal I was going to find. I just waved and kept on walking.

Luckly for me, that store is the only one locally thats selling them. That means the set I got rapped on, I should be able to get most of my money back.

I already listed them in the paper
