Hot Stamping Chips??

Postby CptWrentana » Fri Feb 13, 2004 5:42 pm GMT

Hi all,

My wife & I are about to get our first set of chips. We are looking to get them hotstamped since we plan on having them long term (and getting a lot of use out of them). It seems the best deals I've found for chips are online auctions but does anyone have info on hot stamping?

It seems the places that offer hot stamped chips usually charge a lot for the chips themselves, as well as for the personalization. Any places you know of where I can send them my chips & they will hot stamp them?

Any advice is appreciated.

don't know about sending in your own chips... but 5stardeal.com is pretty much the most affordable place to get chips online... and they do hot stamping.

chips

Let me help you out. Get your chips imprinted WHEN you order them. I bought a set of chips from 5star and did not get them hot stamped because I really did not see a need since my game was very small. As it turns out, it has turned into a 1000K buy in no limit game. After the first game I placed another order WITH my personalized (AND REGISTERED) stamp on each side of each chip. I did not want anyone running internet chips in on me. Oh!, and the answer to your question is ,,, There is no place to get this done. Every chips store will want to sell you thier chips and they will tell you since your chips are used, they will not run through the stamping machine as good as new ones. This does not make since , but hey, they need to make a living too. By the way, 5star sells quality chips. Mine are great and would reccomend them to anyone.

Most of the non-auction sites that offer hot-stamped chips are offering a high-quality chip, so you're paying 65-90 cents each even before they're stamped. Best bet for low-cost, stamped chips is as recommended above. Find some auction site that will offer the chips stamped for a fee. Make sure that they won't reproduce your stamp for anyone else (if this is a security issue, not a vanity issue). You'll be lucky, though, to pay less than 40 cents per chip.

I wouldnt recomend hotstapmting them. FOr one reson if you get them with denomitions on them it will confuse you if you play difffer limits. But if you are getting something else, then 5 star deal is prolly your best bet

At this stage the hotstamping is purely for vanity's sake. I checked out 5stardeal and they really do have a great deal. Looks like about $180-$200 for 500 hotstamped chips, shipping included.

Thanks for all the advice.

BTW--poster above gives good advice. Avoid stamping with denominations if you can. You will want to retain maximum flexibility for how you organize your game. Almost everyone I know has seen their games and tournament evolve. By not putting demoninations on your chips you can do a lot more to adapt the game to changes as you and your friends develop as players.
