Re: How to get paid when you flop a moster
Another way to potentially get paid here is to fire a 1/2 pot bet. The villan could see that as a c-bet.
I like the auto 1/2 pot bet into any raised-pot. You will take down enough of them to make it worth-while, and it will allow you to build the pot when you have the monster.

It really depends on what kind of players are in the hand. If they are aggressive then checking to them works best. If its calling stations that are along for the ride then by all means make 1/3-1/2 pot bets on flop turn and river.

Re: How to get paid when you flop a moster
Had he not caught his 9, you'd have won the minimum. Just because it worked this time, does not mean that this is the line to take when flopping a hand like this. If you check/check the flop and check/check the turn, when you fire the river you will use your opponent a lot. If you c-bet the flop at least you might get one street of value even if the turn goes check/check and he folds if he whiffs the river.
I don't disagree with this line completely but you have to get more lucky with it than if you c-bet the flop. If you lose him there by doing that, you've lost nothing compared to if he folds the river in a checked pot anyway.
