HU question
I just lost a HU game after 6hrs of home game tournament poker trying to win a yearly cup me and a bunch of friends compete for.
HU was me vs this total f*cking idiot who has folded and sucked out his way to HU with me. There are 74K chips on the table, HU counts are 45K me, 28K him plus 1K in the pot from colouring up.
First hand HU I am on the SB and complete. He moves all-in, I fold. Stacks 31K, 43K.
Second hand he shoves from the SB and I fold. Stacks 33K, 41K.
He then declares that he is all-in constantly. Literally constantly and he will not look at his cards.
So I do a quick chip count and realise that I need to call within a few hands or I will no longer be chip leader.
Next hand I am dealt 23o so I fold the SB. Stacks 34K, 40K.
Next hand I am dealt 82o so I fold the BB. Stacks 36K, 38K.
Next hand I am dealt K7o and I call his all-in. He flips 83o and hits a 3. Stacks 72K, 2K.
Next hand I am on the BB and all-in for my 2K. I flip 53o, he flips QQ and wins.
My question is - how do you play against this?

Call any hand that's rated to win more than 50% of the time against any two random cards?
Although you'd obviously have a lot of variance with this, and this "situation" won't come often, but it would the right thing to do in the long run.

i dunno what u completed sb with , but i play the same way as u did
no way i fold K7 against a blind all in, tho with stacks like that i might fold it once but i doubt it.
really u didnt nothing wrong except the SB hand but i dont know what u had there

I agree. Although I may have folded more and waited for a half decent hand, Ax or a pair before simply calling and awaiting the all in. Chip lead isn't as important in heads up, if your pretty sure he's gonna all in your call when your stack ratios are above 30:70. I'm probably wrong, but id play it that way. I may even stick in a raise with a sub-par hand just to mix it up so my call isn't perceived as strength when it comes.

Pretty much what everyone said so far. You gotta keep in mind that losing one hand with this slim a chip lead is just as deadly as losing one hand as the short stack. You got about 7-8 more hands of pure folding before you have to start thinking about moving in. Chances are, you'll find a better hand than k7 to call all in with.

Tough one. I'm okay with the K7 call here.
It's already been said that HU can be crap a shoot that comes down to close odds and variance.
The question seems to be is it worth waiting for a hand that looks more like 2 overs, as opposed to 1. You'll get about +5%, but how much is that worth in lost blinds to attrition? Tough to quantify.
On top of that if you get too greedy going for 2 overs you might end up without even 1 and then you're in the cr*p. I.e.. QJ looks really good when he turns over 64 but when he turns over K7 you're suddenly behind.
Humm after some consideration I'm starting like that nice high King more and more.

Push any solid hand like the other posters have said.
Option 2 is much easier, involves less strategy and will bring a smile to your face. Reach out and bitch slap the punk and say learn to play the game you donkey bi-o-tch cause your really pissin me off.

I was very close to doing exactly that.
Apparently the game the week after which I could not attend was won by the same douche who used the same tactic heads up. Once again, he lucked his way to the top two and used this strategy.
Since those two results he has come pretty close to last in every game before you think he might actually be a genius in disguise!
