I blame the beer
I rarely drink many beers and play poker...Last Friday was the exception...after a very stressfull week I wanted to take edge off, so started tossing back some brews at a rapid pace.
Long story short....
Got in .15/.25 NL holdem game at UB.
My $15 went to $37 after 1.5 hours and many beers.
I ended up getting cute and loosing it all in one hand on a 2-way $74 pot.
I did not detect his house (and should have by his betting), and my Ace high flush went down the tiolet (w/my winnings + buy-in). No, I did not chase for the flush alone...I did have a AKs and paired the A on the flop. Still I should have detected he had something bigger in retrospect.
....live and learn
I was able recoup my original buy in by placing 26th out of 750+ people in a $5 +.50 NL multi later.
Overall the w/e had me slightly on the plus side.
I'll have to keep my beer consumption to a minimum when playing. It's does make me less aware for sure.
