With hind sight i probably shouldn't have c-bet this flop 4 - handed as im probably getting one caller and then im sort of stranded on the turn. Im guessing an over pair such as QQ/JJ is re-raising this flop (probably the only part of his range im beating right now, maybe AQ or possibly AK for a split) I wasnt too happy with the turn card as it completed the flush but i thought i'd happily take a free card. Should i fire again on the turn? Is TPTK beating enough of his range here with 3:1 on my money on the river?
over my first 1000 hands with PokerTracker im hemorrhaging cash with AK (well 0.7 buy in) , winnings lots of little pots and losing the big ones. I know its not really a representative sample but i do need to adjust the way im playing it.
p.s on a side note: it did also cross my mind that he's playing some goofy small-ball hand because he's a negreanu fan. Should i give peoples names any consideration?

No, names deserve no consideration, even if some of them are often appropriate or ironic.
I call here because your hand is underrep'd, and you beat a good chunk of his range, since he can't think you have a flush.
You can bet/fold the turn against most standard opponents for value.

i folded but in chat he said "nice fold, i had a set (of 6's)"
it would be a fairly odd line to take with a set (not re-raising the flop and calling PF) but i suppose its kinda believable, at the same time i dont know if i should even bother reading the chat as why would he give me free information other than to mislead me.

Re: i cant play AK
You're right about cbetting this flop 4way is bad.
Why are you happy with a free card? Your hand is not likely to improve at all. This is not a typical WA/WB. He can easily have a pair with a spade, you don't want to give him a free card.
This is the perfect place where you should bet/fold. Villain almost never cr as a bluff here (unless he's spewy and decide to cr with AT with the As, which doesn't happen often in lower levels)
You don't have to bet too big. By betting here you sort of price yourself for a SD. I'm guessing he would even just call with his set and check the river, by then your happy with a free SD

Yep. This.
Given your check on the turn I would play a very wide range of hands this way if I were in V's position.
