I always say to myself that I will just sell the expensive set and use some of the faux clays or super diamonds for my games because they are just the chips, but I know that will never happen.

I have 750 SDiamonds and another 250 on the way. I see no reason to buy any other type of chips. I love mine. I got lucky and got some of the last ones from pokerchipdepot.com for .03 per chip. 5star has the best price for the time being. By the time I'm done(yeah right, that'll happen) I'll have 2000 and 2 cases for less than $300.

Well, I was expecting to use my new JBs Saturday night, but had to use my faux clays again (due to the shipping delay). Everyone was perfectly happy, just glad to be playing. I was rather grumpy though, knowing what chips we "should" have been playing with, and how much better looking they are, blah, blah, blah. Considering that most of my players are noobs, I think that that I'm probably the only one who is going to care about the new chips. But we'll see. I probably could just sell my new JBs and use faux clays forever, and nobody would know the difference except for me. I think the only qualities that people might notice and appreciate are the denominations (some still confused over what greens are worth) and the edge-spots (will make the visual chip counting easier--those black faux clays are hard to distinguish from a distance).

I dunno what I'll do. I could sell all my NJ clays and ceramics and just use the super diamonds as my main set. I'd be richer, that's for sure.
You need help. This is why we are here for you. Fight it off, sell the shirt off your back before you part with your NJ's.

Same thing with me, although the people I play with are far from noobs. They just don't care. Not surprisingly, they're typically the ones playing for the money while I sit out in 10th place admiring my chips.

My group does at least like the real chips, but dont understand why I keep getting more -- two new sets in 3 weeks. At least I can cash my Binions chips in when I go to vegas. Kind of a fail safe bank account. I don't plan to buy anymore sets for a while though. I just need to stop watching these damn boards!!
