I'm Back To Stay
I have gotten some pm's asking what I've been up to and whatnot so I decided to give a little update as to what has been going on.
First off I would appreciate if those who have it would remove my photo as their avatar. The RIP crap is really bad form. I made the mistake once of posting a personal experience I had when I was tapped as I thought a community such as this was meant for sharing the good and bad in out poker and our lives, but and those using my photo to throw that back at me is cruel.
I ended up taking a break from poker from July 2007 to January 2008. Decided to return to it January of this year, but quickly realized that online poker bored me to tears, so I left again, but only until February. It was then i realized that online was my only choice as with my work schedule the casino is impossible. My wife and I are moving to Oregon in the spring of 2009 and I knew if I wanted to turn full time pro when we move then online it had to be, but how the hell can I do it if it's no fun and all I can dream about is live play.
Cashed out the beginning of march and then a week later, still knowing it was online or nothing I decided ok, what if I 9 table. perhaps if I was doing that then maybe, just maybe I could play and not be bored to tears. I didn't want to start over again, but at the same time I did not want to sink in too much if multitabling was not my strong suit either. Sunday March 23, 2008 I began my journey once again only this time has a 9 tabling poker player.
It has worked. with 9 tables I am constantly on the move playing and it is enough to hold my interest. And for the first 2 weeks .05/.10 was dismal. .10/.20 has been awesome. Already looking forward to .25/.50 when the time is right. At .10/.20 I am currently earning 16bb/hr after 16 hours of play. Easily over 5000 hands played and things are progressing smoothly.
A few things have changed. I am no longer looking to play full time at $2/$4 or $3/$6. It will be $4/$8 minimum, but $5/$10 would be better. I still try to figure out goals for myself, but they are simply focused on getting to the next step on my ladder and for right now that is .25/.50. No sense looking further than that for right now. The ultimate goal is $10k+, but for right now I am keeping my focus on what I am doing in the here and now, not what or where I might be in six months.
Still working 7 days a week and trying to put another 20-25 at the tables each week. Also taking time to simply step away and take a day off from time to time and go out with the Mrs. for dinner or whatever. Time is on my side.
Guess that's it for now. I'm back and will be posting much much more frequently.
Take care.

wow 7 days a week + you want to fix 20-25 hours of poker. i don't think i am the type that can take long hours like you. poker is still a side interest for me. i enjoy playing like 2-3 times a week 6 tabling, but it get's pretty boring grinding at the same cash games over and over.
maybe i should try some MTT's and give me a bit of excitement, but at the same time, i feel i'll be annoyed when i can't win races or lose to a bad beat close to the bubble. =)

Gl. Always good to set achievable goals. Also very important to enjoy what you do. I can think of playing poker if I didn't love it.
Am guessing your playing FL holdem?
btw, I easily play over 6 hours of poker a day, usually 3-4 tables 6max NL and I never get board.

yES I play limit holdem. I like it much better than NL cash games. I think I like the safety net that limit games naturally have.

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.
Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.
Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.
Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've hot him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.
