I'm Back (well kind of)

Postby Tralfaz » Mon Feb 02, 2004 10:30 am GMT

Hey all:

I haven't been here for a while as I haven't had much time to devote to my game lately! (Planning my upcoming wedding which will no doubt continue to interfere with my poker game  )

Anyway, just wanted to update you all and say haey. I played in the $215 NL tourney on pokerstars yesterday. I won my buy - in in a $3 rebuy tourney. I did a rebuy immediately and also used the add-on after the first hour. So for $9 I got my $215 buy in.

So. . . I finished 49th out of 716. Not bad but not really good enough to win any real money. I got $380.50 which is an ok return for $9 but I had to spend 4 hours in the satellite and almos 4 hours in the tourney to earn it.

I was getting so close to the big $$ that I could taste it. Actually, I was lucky to finish in the $$ at all. I had one miracle hand that got me there. I had about 5,000 tc (the average was about 15 - 20k at that point and the smallest stack at my table was 25k. In fact there was one guy with over 100k.) There were 10 people to go to the money (top 63 got paid). The blinds were 1000/2000 and I was under the Gun. I get K 10 suited (spades) and figure "I'm in the blinds next - might as well go for the steal". I go all-in and. . . there are 3 callers.

I figured I was done. I even told my friend to come watch me lose (he was playing in a sit and go at the time). The flop came ace something something - ALL SPADES!!!!! One dude went all-in the others folded and I ended up with 23k.

I was able to hold on for a while - but the blinds were so durn big that I just couldn't hang on. Blinds were 3,000/6,000 (I had about 10k) and I get AK offsuit. Guy goes all in in front of me and I call. He has 99 and I didn't crack them. Ah well maybe next time.

Yeah I was on pokerstars and saw your name, I was playing at another website too though so I couldn't seriously watch. I left when you were UTG with 4k/2k blinds...and you had 8k........
