Not to be rude, but this is one of the reasons why online gambling hasn't been legalized. There is no real way to keep kids out. I've never heard of an individual user getting prosecuted for online gambling though if that's what you are wondering.

I don't know . . . I think any kid who either A) Has a financial identity that would allow him to play or B) Cons one up would probably find a way to sit in a real game . . . If you MUST play before you are legal, why not find a home game to play in? Age isn't nearly as important in a home game . . . or a cardroom that's illegal anyway, but that's deep water for a beginner. . . .Other then that, just play freerolls, and if you win, you can figure out a way to get the money off the site at that point. . .

Ive played on PartyPoker, UB and currently pretty underage. Mostly I attened Home Games rather play online.

Tip: If you have a credit card ( as I do ) your able to login on Party Poker and use their epassporte.com system which allows you to send money to your account from credit card. This is the best because no Social Security or bank account required. Though their is a charge for shipping it is ultimately the best.

UltimateBet.com is hard to do if you can send them cash, they would probably be the best way. But what I did is I found some friends who also play on UB ( you can do this with really any place ) who uses the "Transfer Money " Function. I send them cash VIA Paypal ( plus a few extra dollars for their troubles ) Then they send me the money through transfer.

Neteller/Firepay- Most places uses one or both of these method's which seems to be the most popular. I for one dont want a checking account so this limit's the option of FirePay service, since they dont operate any other way than checking I cant use this service, But if you have checking you may want to. Also you can do this- Open up a checking account ( and if your under age they usually give you a free one depending on the bank you goto. ) And depoist the min amount of money of the Casino/Bank allow's and do it like that. Neteller is popular because it handle's credit cards like Epassporte.com on Party Poker does, but DONT USE THIS METHOD!! You will notice after registering a bit they ask you for your Social Secuirty Number, dont do this! They will for sure instantly close the account after they check it and your money will be lost. Also I dont know for sure, but I would be worried about the company leaking over the information to your card place you are using and them shutting your account down, or Neteller not allowing you to set up an account in the future.

Age limit is there for a reason, and as much as I hate it I agree with it. To play at card room's/ most online card room's you mustbe the age of 18+ Mostly because anyone under the age of 18 is usually not too finicaially smart with their money, and pretty much end up laying down a large sum. Trust me, if your not comfortable of loosing that first $100/$200 then dont play online! Infact, you really being comfortable could actually be a problem, so really you want to play smart. Dont do the casual, " I must make my money back." Chances are if your underage and your playing poker your statitiscally not very good, which means your probally gonna dig yourself a bigger hole. Having a job help's a lot with this too, I plan to use little bit of my paycheck to goto my online gambling, and when that is gone by weekly I will wait, make options and goals before playing, stick to them. If you set a limit of $25 lost per week STICK TO IT!

Dont worry about cashing out through the card room's I have rececived both checks from PartyPoker/UB. I usually request a check than anything else to avoid direct contact with them.

There is also the fact that most high-school kids really don't belong at a high-stakes poker table! If you guys are the exception (and I know a couple of you are), good, but can you imagine your high school's offensive line at a table with, say, mindgame? He'd go home with the mascot!
