i assume the pre-flop raise was correct..

should i have checked the flop with the nut low draw instead of betting the pot with it? anything else? im not a frequent hi/lo player but i do enjoy it a good bit, and have been dabbling with it today after some successful NL hold em hours. just looking for some information on how i played it

To tell you the truth, I don't really like raising pre-flop (particularly in the blinds) in such games unless I have a truly stellar hand lie AA2x double-suited where x is another wheel card. The truth is, your equity doesn't make you that big a favorite in the hand before the flop, but after the flop, you may be way ahead of everyone else. Other than that, I might have bet less than the pot on the flop, because you have very little information about the other kinds of draws out there and you don't want to get quartered or counterfeit. The pot bet basically committed you to the hand.

i agree with diamond. Raising preflop seems pretty much worthless in most hands in omaha. Even with hands like diamond said, you arent THAT much of a favorite to win the hand preflop, you are basically trying to win the low, and getting lucky with the high with like 2 pair or something. The flop is what defines omaha, way more than it does for NLHE. Basic strategy should be to try and limp in with as many decent hands as possible and play the flop if its good for you.
And pretty much if you dont have the nut low or high, and theres big raises to you, fold. I feel like its pretty easy to have the nut low in omaha, so thats what I try to go for, and hope i get either 2 ppl playing for high, or get lucky and hit high too.

You know? I actually never raise preflop in this game anymore... it has never worked out. (well, except fior this particular hand)
