I Quit My Job Today

Postby xDiamond_CutteRx » Mon Jan 28, 2008 10:59 pm GMT

...so, yeah. Don't have anything new lined up, and grad school won't start for at least 6 more months. Not really sure what I'm going to do, but I'm oddly confident I'll manage. I was just so unhappy I couldn't take it anymore, so yeah, I'll be unemployed in like 2 weeks.

Go me.

Wow thats crazy. How is it to just get up and go in the middle of the school year? Were you teaching at an underprivileged school?

Best of luck going forward Dave.

For what it's worth, I strongly suspect you made the right decision.

I went on for years at my first job out of college being miserable because of all the BS reasons like "I've built up seniority/vacation time" etc etc.

But if you hate going in every day, it takes way too much out of you for whatever benefit you think you're getting.

Best of luck. Something will come up. It always does.

well done. You should never do something you can't bring your self to enjoy doing.

You'd be alright.

Those rotten kids...thinking about how much crap we gave our middle school teachers makes me feel bad for them.

Do you have any good stories for us? Need any recommendations on how to get back at those rotten kids? What are you going to grad school for?

Yea he would of gotten away with it, if it wasn't for those darn kids. ...spoiling his job I mean.

Personally I dislike who I currently work for and have no career prospects, that said the money's good and the work is easy so I'm to lazy to leave :(

I'll offer an insightful quote: "Pride and poverty don't get along, but often live together."

Needling aside, g'luck. :)

I was a teacher for a full school year. If I hadn't quit I'd probably be in jail now.

Yes Dilbert is pretty appropriate for the day to day s**t I go though. I’m more Penny Arcade guy though in my attitude :)
