I Won Sunday Millions Ticket--What to Expect?
I just played a 400 FPP satellite to the Stars Sunday Millions and won a seat. Whooeee.
This is a first for me and I'd sure appreciate some information on what to expect at the SM. I've never been in a tournament when real money was on the line, just some micro SnGs and some FPP satellites.
How many players are typically in it?
Is the play 'normal', 'wacko', or what? (This 400 w/ Rebuy was amazing--watch for a post on that next.)
How long does the tournament take (assuming I last past the first level).
The good news is that my wife will be out of town and I'll be able to focus.
Thanks for any advice.

5k+ I think

It's usually filled with a load of loose bad players who don't know what they are doing, just hope you get an easy table draw

10 hours+?

Well played
Thanks for any advice.
Good luck

Unregister and use the T$ to practice tournaments. Much more bang for your buck... unless you get really lucky.

Yeah, if this is your first real tourny, its probably a better idea if you dont risk 215$ on it.

i say play it! ^^ hes not risking $215 on it, he has risked a few hundred FPPs on it, thats how i see it.
yeah sure you could use the $215 to buy into other, smaller tournies or SnGs.
but its a nice experience, the tournament does have 10K starting chips. plus, you will feel GREAT if you make the money..... and if you dont make the money, well, it only cost you a few FPPs... and you play FL so FPPs go pretty fast if im not mistaken... oh well do what you wish but thats my 2 cents

What I Did
Thanks all for the advice and opinions.
I decided to spread the $T around some. I've played five $10+$1 SnGs and won one for $45 in 'real' dollars. I've still got buy-ins for 13 or so of these and may try to even ratchet up those stakes on a couple. The $10 SnGs seem to play more 'reasonably' than my usual $1 + .20 SnGs. I'm learning quite a bit on the ones where I've busted out.
And I've also used the weekend with the wife off with her sisters and some unused FPPs to try to win another buy in. Came within striking range in today's 2:00 PM 500 FPP tourny--see a related post going up right after this update. These 500 FPP No Rebuy play a lot more reasonably than that circus act of a 400 FPP with Rebuy was.
Bottom line, I'm getting in some good practice, have made a little bit of money, and am enjoying myself.
Tonight it's cigars and the laptop out on the balcony.
