After having participated in one tournament my second one was a total success.
Structure was 70 players(i think) 30£ buy in. Winner was 540£ top 9 get paid.

I knocked the 2 small stacks in my table and went to be just a medium stack in the final two tables but thats where all the fun started. I played some hands pretty good and knocked 3 more people and ended up being the chip leader for 2 hours until 4 people left at the final and we decided to split the pot (we were playing for 6 hours).

I dont think i made any mistakes but i do have one important question. If your the chip leader (i had 60-90K in final table i think i and 220k was the total amount in the tournament)at the final table and when you raise with shitty hands to steal blinds or to put up pressure you face constant all ins. How do you handle that?Everybody in the table was raising me all in most of the time and didnt want to give them a chance to double up with 98 or 10J.

I was beginning to believe that i might loose because my hands where really bad for the last 30 minutes and the other 3 players were just raising me all in and they were willing to gamble. Do you just wait for someone to leave until u make your moves again? Or just gamble with marginal hands since they wont have much of a hand either?

Alot of it really depends on blind structure I think. If the blinds are starting to get out of control compared to stack size you might have to be gambling alittle bit more to eliminate other players. yea you dont wanna be doubling up short stacks with marginal hands but going completely card dead pushing any suited A or K is what you will have to do.

Lets say you are chip leader with 25-30x with blinds increasing every 20-30 minutes wait for your spot, no need to gamble. Now if you are chip leader and you got 15x and blinds increasing every 10-15 minutes a chop at this point might not be a bad idea if you get alittle more for being chip leader.

Yeah i think you are right. Luck is a very important factor in tournaments in crucial decisions.

I think in some situations u need to watch players behind you before making a move. Some players will have the cards in the hands preparing to fold and i found out that this helps a lot especially when you are going to steal blinds and your somewhere in the middle.

I also found useful raising with almost any hand when your the button. If you have judged players correctly you can see who is going to defend the blind and who is not willing to risk it. You can also tell who is going to steal them and a reraise will definately make them fold if you have a good read on them.
