Idea for a videogame
ok... was watching a review of an old spiderman game and it gave me an idea for two games...
first is a spiderman game where there basically is no storyline.... well it doesn't have to be specifically a spiderman game... it can really be any hero... maybe a batman game... or the tick game... anyways..
it's basically a sandbox game (think GTA) where the whole city is open.
there's no web-races or collecting coins or tokens or anything like that just random crimes that happen like bank robberies, break-ins, muggings, etc.
what's different is that if you chose not to stop these crimes the frequency and severity will rise where as if you run around fighting crime they go down...
ok now as for bosses... you know in how all the cartoons the villians are always pulling a couple small jobs to pickup the things they needs to build or pay for what their master plan is but they never seem to make sence till the end of the show...
well that's it could start out... as you're running around you happen to run into say the joker robbing a bank or doc oc stealing some component part...
if you stop the crime it makes them take another route to what their goal is... or if they get away you then can try and figure out what they're up to and depending on your involvement in stopping them they'll either succeed or have to take more or different approaches in their goal. this would lead up to of course they big final fight.
with the main game set up expansion packs could relatively easily be made that would introduce new villians with new plans and as time goes and a varied assortment of villians each trying to break out and carry out different plots to wreak havok on the city you're trying to protect...
and the second game... would be like a (please don't stop reading after i say this cause i know you'll want to)... would be like a MMORPG but that you would get to create either a superhero or a villian...
obv heros would go around stopping crime in different cities while villians go around wreaking havoc and trying to destroy stuff...
no levelling cause that would just f*ck things up...

i like the idea. What about you have a good vs evil character dynamic like fallout/fable. You can choose to be either a hero or a villain
how would you have structure to the game, wouldn't it get a little repetitive?
thinking about it, im sure you can just make it as a mod for one of the gta games.

DC and Marvel hated it, said it was a copyright infringement kit.
