Im new, i hope someone can answer my question please
Hello, I was confused about one instance when 2 people would both have a flush at the end of the hand and the high card is on the board. I was under the impression you would split the pot but someone I just met told me that when that occurs you go to whoever has the higher flush card in their hand. Can someone clarify this for me. Thank you very much.

To be more precise, you look at each person's best flush. If the top five ranks are all on the board, it's a split.
In other words, let's say the board is A through 10 suited. Just because you have the 9 and the other person has the 8 doesn't matter; it's only if the cards in your hand play.
