Interesting development from Pokerstars
Although Pokerstars have yet to come out with a conclusive statement re: their position in the aftermath of the Safe Port act other than their "wait and see" policy, I found the following quite interesting...
Pokerstars have often made a big deal about how all players funds were held in segregated accounts with the Royal Bank of Scotland so I was a little worried when the RBS came out with the following statement recently.
(they) "will be telling corporate clients they're not prepared to do business with companies that take online bets from the United States"
RBS/Barclays statement
So I emailed stars and was pleasantly surprised to not just recieve a form response, but in fact a statement of how they are moving funds from RBS to other European banks which are glad of their business.
PokerStars maintains banking relationships with several other leading
European banks, which have not been affected. RBS has provided us with
sufficient time to move player funds to these banks, and we are in the
process of doing so at this time.
Credit card processing is done through various other processors, who
are continuing business as usual.
Your funds remain completely safe with PokerStars.

Quite heartening really, and looks as tho stars will be continuing to do business in the US even if they're not coming right out and saying as much.

so Stars is basicly loundering are money throe many Many banks so the Feds cant bust them
That's not what this says at all. Their current bank is choosing to follow the new US law so PS is being forced to move the money they are holding for American players to another bank. They are doing this out in the open, so how are they laundering anything?

PokerStars.com - Our business continues as before
Dear PokerStars Player -
As you are probably aware, the United States Congress recently enacted the Safe Port Act which contains provisions relating to Internet gambling.
PokerStars has received extensive expert advice from within and outside the U.S. which concluded that these provisions do not alter the U.S. legal situation with respect to our offering of online poker games. Furthermore it is important to emphasize that the Act does not in any way prohibit you from playing online poker.
Therefore, our business continues as before - open to players worldwide including the US. You may play on our site as you did prior to the Act.
PokerStars believes that poker is a game of skill enjoyed by millions of players and we remain committed to providing you a safe and fun environment in which to play. We value your loyalty to PokerStars, and look forward to continuing to serve you with the best online poker experience, as we have for the past five years, six billion hands, and 40 million tournaments.
PokerStars Management
This has been posted on their Web site for a couple of weeks now. Seems like a pretty clear stance to me.
I think their delay in coming out with a statement was the time it took to secure a new bank since Royal Bank of Scotland backed out.
