Is this Math right?

Postby Raisor » Sun Jul 02, 2006 2:42 am GMT

I have 9 outs going to the river.
The pot is $120 and somone bet $40 into it.

Pot odds are 4-1
Out odds are 3.5-1?

Or did I get them backwards? And they're 1-4 and 1-3.5?

Mathematically this would be a correct call? Because my pot odds are higher than my out odds?

Is they're a chart of hand out ratios? Gonna have to memorize it...

Thanks.

Lmao, look what just happened when I was writting this, it wasn't me though that won/lost.

I did get knocked out next hand though because of this idiot, it's impossible to play in freeroles.

With 9 outs and one card to come, the odds against making your hand are 4.1-to-1. You are getting $160 ($120 + $40 bet) to $40 on your call, or 4-to-1, so by strict odds your call is marginally incorrect.

But, if you feel like your implied odds offer you to make more than 4.1-to-1 if you make your hand, the call may be worth it.
