Hi Just wanting to ask a question about the Rules?

I was Playing Poker last Sunday with a Bunch of mates..
and I had Gotted Pocket Aces.. so i raised the pot and people kept reraising then we got to showing our cards and I showed my Pocket Aces and The other Guy Showed a Queen and a 5

Now the Card on the Table were Q 5 J K 6

So i assume i win.. and the guy says.. "No mate i win coz i have the card on the Table.. You only have the Pockets but i have a higher hand coz i have both a queen in my hand and a queen on the table" so not wanting to start a fight i just let it slide but its been bugging me.. so the question is.. who had the higher hand? Me or Him?

Its the best 5 cards that count out of the 7 in play (your 2 + the 5 on the table). Therefore
You had AAKQJ
He had QQ55K

Therefore
You have a PAIR
He has TWO PAIR

Two-pair beats one pair and therefore he wins.

Of course, you haven't told us which suits the cards were, so i assume there were no flush possibilities (a flush would beat both those hands)

Did you tell the story right? If he actually only had a pair of queens, you win because your aces beat them. It makes no difference if he has paired a card on the board, it's about who has the higher hand using the best five cards out of the seven available to each player.

Hi, I was playing a no limit texas holdem tournament and there ten players at my table, the second player after the big blind was looking at his cards to decide what to bet, the fourth player after the big blind (not being his turn yet) sent a 3 thousand chips bet beyond the white line marked on the table, a few seconds later, the second player who had the right to bet, sent an all in bet of about 8k chips. the question is: what happens with the bet of the fourth player, can he take it back or does it have to remain on the table anyways? should he be penalized and if Yes, how? Thanks.

he has more pairs than you , So he wins with more pairs.
