Just played another freeroll...

Postby Ninja » Wed Mar 17, 2004 6:36 pm GMT

So I just finished another UB freeroll. I did really badly (855 out of 1500), but I feel good overall. I took my own advice and took more risks (went all-in on stone cold bluff, won like 700 TC when I had about 900 before the hand). So, I only wasted 35-40 minutes, and had fun doing it. Here's a hand where I dropped from 1500 TC to 400 (and never recovered).

Me- Ad 10d (Big blind, blinds are 15-30)
Him- ??
XX- ??

He raises to 60. I call, XX calls.

Flop- Jh Qs Ks (I made the nut straight!!)

He bets 200. I call, XX folds.

Turn Jh Qs Ks Qd

He goes all-in for 800 (I'm at 1200 after betting)
I call.

He flips Jd Jc. (Ouch!!!)

River Jh Qs Ks Qd Kc

He has J's full Q's, I have A-high straight.

Looking back on it, it would've been a big laydown, but a smart one for me. I could'nt get away from thinking that he had trips Q's though. Oh well. I'll get 'em next time... :D

Ya you shouldn't have called that. I understand though. It looked like an overbet bluff. You can never tell with these guys because not even they know why they are bluffing, slow-playing, or betting for value. I've been running into a lot of slowplayers lately. I guess they think they are smart. I just give them a "slow plays too much" note. Hey, at least it's strategy even if they are using it in all the wrong times and giving me free cards.
