Seems reasonable if Trademark or the Taiwanese company actually owns the copyright. If a copyright holder doesn't exercise due dilegence to protect their intellectual property a court isn't going to be terribly sympathetic if they try to go after someone who infringes it.

On another note, I was looking at some dice chips from Trademark the other day and they are noticably of a different and higher quality than the other dice chips that you find from the other sources. I wouldn't buy them, just that they do appear to be of better quality and they're not quite as slippery.

Sounds like 5StarDeal.com wants to be the Microsoft of the poker chip world.

The chip manufacturer for 5stardeal is the only manufacturer which is authorized to produce poker chips of the dice design. They also owns many other poker chip designs which are counterfeited by other Chinese factories.

It will be interesting if one day the copyright owner decided to sue all the major chain stores for all the counterfeited dice chips that they have sold for the last two years.

And you are right, their 11.5g chips (dice, suited, diamond etc.) are definitely much better quality than all the other counterfeited 11.5g chips on the market.

With China's copyright enforcement?
And after two years it's not likely there would be much to go after, their only hope might be in the U.S. and what they're doing on eBay. I don't think there's much that can be done with the chain stores, after all US Customs let the stuff into the country and they're usually on the lookout for counterfeit goods if they know about them.

Insofar as infringement it would be almost like Kimberly Clark going after tissue manufacturers because people call them Kleenex® generically. :)

Though quite honestly since it's only one web site and the propensity for such rants from a single individual, I'd be inclined to wait and hear the rest of the story. I'd suspect there is far more to the story that we may not be privy to.

Weren't these dice designs ripped off some old vegas chips. I thought I saw a Binnion's chip with that dice design in the 80's, but I could be wrong...
