Kem SMELL

Postby wisehybred99 » Thu Jun 16, 2005 12:13 pm GMT

I bought two decks of the fleur de lie style Kem's and they smell terrible! I have tried cleaning them, and letting them sit out for a month. What more can I do to ge the smell out? also I have a crease in one card it's not bad but you can tell where the card is when in the deck.
-Thanks, Will

Other than letting them sit out, there's not much else you can do. The odor is coming directly from the plastic and/or paint.

Did you keep them stacked together when you left them out? I've read about someone who spread them out on a table while airing them out, and he claimed it reduced the odor.

LOL... one of the things I don't like about Kems. Yes, spread them out somewhere or shuffle them for a while. Over time, this will fade but also develop nice earthy undertones of cigarettes, beer, and general poker funk. Guh.

I didnt notice kem cards smell. Must be the thick cloud of smoke masking the odor.

I guess I am wierd I love the smell. :) As for the crease, can you take a picture and post it? I have some methods for getting them out but I have to see the crease to make a good recommendation.
