Last 5 in a 45 seater sng

Postby jimmer » Wed Nov 28, 2007 1:00 pm GMT

Two questions:

1. BigDiddyDong had been playing very fairly loose most of the final table. I decided not to re-raise as I'd have position on him the rest of then hand. Was my flat call ok?

Secondly, I 80% expected a cont bet from him even before the flop arrived, but what should i do?

Putting in 1/4 of your chips preflop doesn't give you much wiggle room afterwards, so position after the flop doesn't mean a whole lot.

It's push/fold, and from your statement about his loose play, I'm guessing you're ahead a fair majority of the time.

I agree - shove or fold. What good is calling here? Anyway, I'd be inclined to shove given the villain's looseness.

Shove over the top of him PF.

As played, shove over the top of him. If he has a K, shame, but you don't get many solid opportunities with blinds as they are and your stack with an M of a little less than 5.

I have to agree with Sean here. You have to push and hope he isn't playing a Kx hand.

I think Sean and everyone else here were talking about PF.
So late with so little chips you simply can call raises or even limp to see flops.
The decision most be made PF , push/fold.

As Sean pointed out flat calling preflop is horrible with your hand (you could flat call with a few big pairs since you want the action). Push/fold are your options, and I think you'd lean toward push given how loose you said he was.

If I lost my mind and called preflop, I'd flat call again on the flop. I'm either wa/wb here and pushing is only likely to get a worse hand to fold. I'd be looking to get it in on the turn no matter what came.
