Limit River Spot
$2/$4 Limit game, part of HORSE rotation.
Hero is in the CO with [Ah Jh]. One limper, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, limper folds, Hero calls.
Flop [Th 6h 5s]
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.
Turn [2c]
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.
River [Td]
BB checks, Hero bets.
Now, my question is, by betting the river, we're essentially turning our hand into a bluff, right? Is it worth trying to bluff in this pot when the turn and river were so inoccuous? What I mean is, if villain thought he was good on the flop, he probably thinks he is good on the river, or at least isn't going to fold.
Turn bet is good?
River bluff is decent? Or just check and hope A-high is best?

The Ten on the river makes is more likely he will call. AK or AQ will probably call with the flushdraw. A lot of this comes down to metagame and what hands I've been showing down after C/R preflop aggressors.
Yes this is always a bluff, he is certainly not calling with a whole lot of worse hands.
To be honest, I think this is a spot where if he calls the turn, we can probably give up on the river. Again, with reads that they won't call with say AQ here, I'm betting the river. Another important aspect to this if you play against these players a lot is to do this with your draws, so when you c/r A6, JT, or 99 here you get paid off on the river.
I really think you get looked up here by every hand that beats you. If he folds, it's because he had like QJ or KQ or A7 or something.

What phil said.
I would never bet this river online b/c no one ever folds a better hand. I would consider betting this river a waste of $4.
But live players love folding the river. I can't explain it but I see it all the time. It's like they think they'll be refunded their money if they fold the river. Or maybe it just hasn't occured to them that Ace hi is sometimes the best hand. It depends on your image and villain. With a good image you won't get called by AK or AQ, which looks like a big part of his range. The bad part is sometimes villain has KK and just called down because he put you on a set of Tens.
