Making chips "stick".

I'm very very close to buying a set of NJ clays, but I'm a little annoyed by how slick they are. It's the one and only thing about them that bothers me. Is there any way you can make a clay chip "stick" better? The mold itself feels very rough, I dunno why they are slo slick when stacked up...

Have you been handling your samples enough to simulate some usage and wear? I think as chips get more worn-in and pick up that lovely sebaceous/epithelial cruft from many hours of sweaty handling, they should get stickier.

This is how dumb I am--I actually used to think that the munge on dirty Paulsons being used in casinos was actually some special "stickum" substance that was purposefully applied to the chips to help them stack better. . . duh. Now that I know what that crud really is, ewwww.

My set isnt slick and they can be stacked 30++. the only problem with stacking is that some chips arent exactly flat. if you have that chip near the bottom of the stack you'll have an unstable stack. you'll be able to 'turn' the chips above the 'unflat' chip. Also the $25 are thinner than the $100, $500, $1000 so in my chip case 54 $25 fit in one row of 50. 52 $100, $500, $100 fit in one row of 50. when i first got my chips they felt slick so i just rubbed them in a towel.

It might not be the thickness of the chip but the squareness of the case that causes you to have different amounts of chips in each row. In fact, the NJ clays might be equal if you put 2 stacks of 50 next to each other (50 x 25 and 50 x 100)

That would be my guess ........or maybe you're right :D

no they are not equal. look at the picture, no matter how high you ståck them they still will be at different height levels. seems like the $100 and $1000 are the same.

Blue Chip tends to have that problem. Even with the JB and GI chips, sometimes you think that there is a chip missing when you put them in the racks.

Thanks for posting pictures of those NJ Clays. If they stack like this, I don't think that I would ever buy these!

Can you imagine the problems this would cause at a casino. This is inexcusable!

There are numerous posts about the quality issus with Blue Chip chips. Here is just another problem with them.

they stack nice and neat. the only inconsistency is the thickness. i was just too lazy to make them look 'nice'

As an update to this post, I have been shuffling my stack of 10 $25 NJ clays and, while they don't stick anything like my NJ Ceramics do (do ANY chips stick like those?), they are sticking much much better than they did when I first got them. They stick similar to the new Paulsons (slightly less), which actually got slicker the more I played with them.

The old TH&Cs man, those suckers stuck together.
