Matsui Decal Chips
Can anyone post a scan of the sheet in the brochure with the different types of decal chips? I don't have a scanner to get it from the Matsui brochure and I don't know how to get it off of their webpage because of the little flash animation they have. I really like the decal chips and was thinking about doing some mockups to possibly get another group buy started.
thanks

I think their actual catalog has a few more choices, but here's the best resolution pic I can get from the web site.
Note that their standard chips are 40mm (with oversize chips at 43MM, like baccarrat chips), not the 39mm used in U.S. But 40mm chips usually fit in the regular racks and cases OK. Lots of the cheap Chinese 11.5g chips are 40mm, too.

Thanks a bunch tomb1. I have Matsui samples and noticed they were a bit larger than my chipcos so thanks for clarifying. The decal chips just have great graphics and they feel great. I wasn't that impressed with their clay chips or coin inlay chips but the decals are awesome in my opinion. I know you're pretty familiar with all sorts of chips, so how do you think the Matsui decals stack up with similar Bud Jones, RT Plastics, etc.

I'm sitting here playing with some:
- Matsui decal samples (courtesy of John Tucker)
- Bud Jones classic V7s
- RT Plastics casino-only chips, and some
- RT Plastics/Gamblers consumer chips.
I think the Matusi decals are equal to the Bud Jones V7s. I'd love to have a set or somehow get a custom group buy. Some styles have more beveled/rounded edges (which I prefer) and some have more squared-up edges, similar to BJs.
Maybe the composite material in the BJs is a teeny bit better feeling IMO, but I would take either one in a heartbeat. The Matsuis are all 40mm and the BJs all 39mm.
The RTP real casino chips are very nice also, but a half-step below the BJs & Matsuis. Still fine chips, if you could get them. All the ones I've seen have been 39mm.
Finally, the RTP consumer chips (like Bugsy's and dozens of other fantasy chips you can get at Gamblers General Store) are OK. The plastic is a little too hard for my taste, some of the inlays are too shiny, and the price is not cheap, but there are some good inlay designs.
P.S. I don't know why Matsui provides their coin inlay chips in fantasy sets to resellers, but not any decals. Maybe nobody's made a deal yet?!?

The Matsui chips are about the same size as B&G chips but I think they're still just a tad larger than the B&G chips. I would still take a B&G chip over a BJ chip but it's still a tossup.
Matsui decals are close to Bud Jones, but the plastic is just a tad harder.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the B&Gs -- made by the parent company that bought Paulson and Bud Jones. I recently got a few of their decal chips from some European casinos, and they are 40mm also.
They look much better in real life than these pictures:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 6165820505
They stack up very well against the BJs and Matsuis. In fact, they're as close to Matsuis as you could get, just different colors and styles available. I'd take 'em in quantity, if we could get some.
All 3 of these -- BJ, Matsui, B&G are so close as to be equivalent IMHO.

Stand by on that deal. I am working with one of the online retailers to design and get the decals on the market. I'm just waiting for my samples to make some good scans and create mockups. They were sent last week so I should have them soon.

matsui custom chips for resale..
My company are working on a poker show for Australia, and we have been dealing with Matsui looking at getting them to supply the chips for the program.
I had been thinking about getting extra to sell retail. Not looking at making any profit on them, just to lower our own costs given that the more we purchase the cheaper they get.
We've got some full colour mock ups from them that I LOVE, but as the show is as yet under wraps I don't think we can share them yet.
But it brings up a question I've been wondering for a while. Obviously dependant on design, would people be interested in buying any. They aren't cheap, off the top of my head, and I feel this is wrong, I think we are looking at $1.1 to $1.20 US per chip, plus shipping from Australia or Korea. I was thinking of checking with TenPercenter or the Acechipsompany guy (Paulsonsonchips?) wether they'd be interested in buying a bulk purchase from us. That way they could distribute in the US and keep costs down.
Wow have I been rambling... Sorry but the project really excites me. Nothing's in concrete, but that's where we're at. Matsui and they're Australian rep have been very helpful and seemed to have no objections to doing custom chips for resale. Minimum purchase of 500 per colour setup, but if any of you organise a group buy you;d cover it no worries.

Is this project still in the works? Is there any retailer out there that you can get samples from, or would I have to order from Matsui directly?

No, at this point there isn’t any deal. I was talking with someone buy they just faded away and stopped responding to my email.

The clay matsui's on pcr.com were actually mine; it took about a month for me to get them. I'm sure you have seen the groupbuy on chiptalk for the matsui clays?
holdempokerchips.com already sells the coin inlay matsui's as well but thats it.

I got the following reply when trying to get some decal samples from Matsui:
Unfortunately our decal chips are only for casino...This is because we
have
to think much of security since gaming chips in casino is same as
money.
Of course we don't mean that we don't trust or doubt you...
