But do we really need another clay chip group buy? Especially if it's potentially going to be more expensive (and the U.S. dollar is weak now, to boot). I guess the only thing that would make it worth the effort and cost is if we can get much more flexibility in mold/color/inlay design than Paulson, and much higher quality/feel than Blue Chip/TRK/ASM.

Matsui clay chips are great, but they sell for the same price Paulson do (~$0.90 per chip), and I just feel that if I'm spending that much already, why not just get Paulsons? Also, though we will probably get flexibility with Matsui clays (by paying setup fees), I think they are just starting to experiment with inlaying chips (traditionally they've been all hotstamp) as the inlays are not in their catalogs. Would we pay that much per chip for a company with no experience?
I like their Decal chips. They are slick, but not in a bad way - they are very stackable. The chips certainly do not feel like plastic dice chips. Their look screams classy casino. The graphic capablities are unlimited if we're willing to pay for design changes.

I'm pretty sure they do inlays, although I have not seen them up close.

You may have seen samples with inlays, but according to the Matsui Catalog:
Quote:
"CLAY CHIPS ARE AVAILABLE IN STANDARD COLOURS AND ARE HOT STAMPED WITH A LOGO OF YOUR CHOICE."

I've talked to them and they will do inlays.
Here is a (bad photo) image that they just sent me to show that they do them.

If they do inlays, I'm sure you can get some clay inlay and hotstamped samples from Jinny @ Matsui.

All I can say is....HURRRRRAY!!!!!!
I am waiting on the 'new' Clay chips from them. They told me a couple months ago that they were 'reworking' their clays and would send me some as soon as the new version was ready. I have no idea what 'reworking' means.
In the meantime, the Decals are just fantastic chips. Some of the best out there. Yeah...they are a bit on the slick side...but not all that bad. And the feel and design flexibility is just stunning. You *GO* CnC!!!!
Cheers,
John
