Mike Sexton

Postby lwestatbus » Tue Jan 02, 2007 1:19 pm GMT

I went to the WPT site trying to find out if my impression about a third WPT hostess was correct (see related post in this forum) and ended up reading Mike Sexton's bio. I was amazed to see that he'd been a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division (and also interested to see that he'd had a 4-year scholarship to Ohio State in gymnastics). Based on his birthdate there is a pretty good chance that he was also a combat veteran.

After jumping out of airplanes in sometimes difficult circumstances and possibly getting shot at a time or two going all-in in an air conditioned casino may not be all that traumatic. (I know.)

Yeah, he's had a pretty colourful life.

Seems he was a pretty close friend of Stu Ungar and also made a fortune from Partypoker & WPT.

Not to shine my own belt (or something) I also jumped from plane and even flew choppers, though none in a combat zone.

doesn't really make me that much better a poker player :)
