Monitors/screens for multi-tabling

Postby jimmer » Wed Jul 21, 2010 1:12 pm GMT

So the wife says we need a larger income over the next few months to make ends meet. She thinks about agency work, freelance work and looking after some kids during the summer holidays, I think.....mmmm, errr......poker! Specifically - multi tabling.

I've played 16 hours x4 tables and this is piss easy. However my laptop screen is 30cm wide and 23cm tall, so fitting in a 5th or 6th table is difficult.

I recon i could comfortably play 9-12 tables, but I will confirm this next week when i plug my laptop into my mates wide screen TV and try it out for a few hours. However, his TV is so freakin big I recon I will have to sit about 3km's away otherwise me eyes will be going funny. Visa versa, I don't want to get a TV, set up 12 screens and not be able to see my cards because they are so tightly packed in.

So the questions i have are;

1.Do you muti-table? If so, how many and how big is your screen?

2.What are the minimum screen size / requirements for playing 9-12 tables at once?

I think a better question would be whether this is a smart move given that you need a higher level of income. You can't guarantee that you will make any money no matter how many tables you decide to play.

No, your right - I can't. But I put £100 into my account 10+ years ago and have never reloaded, so I'm now not too fussed risking a bit now to see if it works. If i lose my pokerstars bankroll, I'll just take some money from my betfair account and go and find a real job.

The poker playing idea is the 'lazy-fun way' to make money. Worse case scenario - I give up working 40hrs per week for the homeless charity and go back to international sales. Hell, I'm getting job offers every week at the mo, I just can't be bothered to put in the time or effort. Working 10 minutes from my house and running my own diary has it's advantages, it just doesn't quite pay the bills. If i have to go back to sales I will but in the mean time I'd like to have a little fun trying other revenue streams.

I recently got a new pc, and monitor.It's so much better than laptop , cant beleive i never got one before. Mine is 24' and reckon it could prolly do 12 tables pretty easily.

I used to not play more than 4 really, but will prolly be doing up to 8 more frequently now.
