More on Chips...

Postby Kid Krow » Sun Mar 07, 2004 3:14 pm GMT

I know there is a whole section on chips and what not but heres my question anyways...

I am Getting Very intrested in Building a Very Capable Collection of Chips for my newly constructed Hold'em Table. I need The Color Code to Cash Value list for my chips. I'm getting a full set of 2000 10g chips here in a few days and I want to make sure my chips are properly distributed. that and I want to make sure I got the proper knowledge so I don't look like a complete fool with my poker buddies...

So Far I've only had the cheep plastic Waffer thin chips, in the standard three colors or white red and blue. at the current cash values:

$5-White
$10-Red
$25-Blue

I figure that these Values are completely wrong and now I want to know the actual Values for chips because if I'm going to have a passion for the game, then i'm going to need to know the proper infomation...

Also, I want to know how many chips of each Color I should give out for each Dollar ammount. For Example: I get $10.00 from let call him Bob, What Chips should I give him...

Thats about all I need to know for now... Thank you in advance...

And that is where this now lives instead of 'General Poker Chat'. Sorry but we have sections to make life easy for the users (and me!).

the more colors the better... err on the side of caution with your 2000 chip set and go with 5+ colors. You can always have the reds and yellows worth the same, etc.

If you ordered only 3 colors i'd suggest either buying more, or trading someone.

I play in a tourney that runs every wednesday, and they only have 3 colors... and with about 50-70 people playing! By the last table it just gets rediculous with the betting. Its fun to "splash" the pot with a stack of whites, but when you can do the same thing with 3 greens, or 1 black, it makes life easier when you've got 8 people doing it.

with 2000 chips you can host a pretty big home game (20+ people), but only if you only have3 colors, is going to be a pain.
