more "wats better?"
I'm just learning hands and using a training app purchased from the iTunes store. Last night, at "the River" (all community cards had been dealt). The community cards were:
2
3
5
Q
A
According to the training program, the following two hands should have ranked #1 and #2:
2
4
4
9
The best I could make out of these two hands was an incomplete straight (2,3,4,5).
The training program wanted to rank these two hands above the following two hands with two pairs:
Q,5
3,2
What gives? What am I not seeing? Is the training program wrong? If we had just been at the Turn, I might see hoping for a six on those first two hands, though that would be a long shot, but I don't see any reason to rank those hands above the two two-pair hands with all the cards on the table.

You're allowed to use an Ace also as a "1" to make straights with 2, 3, 4, 5. This straight is called the "wheel" and is the lowest possible straight. Minor note: when the ace is used for straights, it must be used as EITHER an ace or as a "1", but never both at the same time. For example:
Possible straight: A,2,3,4,5 OR T,J,Q,K,A
Not a possible straight: Q,K,A,2,3.

How about 4-6 off instead of 4-9?
Note that the suits in their "rankings" are immaterial, as there isn't a flush possibility.
If it actually told you 4-9 was a good hand here, you need to get your money back immediately.
