Moving from Cash to SNGs
Bascially i've got so bored of cashgames, the ber nits, the shortstacks, the ratholers etc etc
I decided to give SNGs a go as i often only get to play or an hour so its nice to know im going to get some guaranteed action.
I started at single table micro stakes ($3+.40) to give myself a chance to get used to the format as i've only played cashgames ever.
So far i've played 14 and finished
1st - 3
2nd - 4
3rd - 2
4th-9th - 5
What i was wondering is how many SNGs would you consider a rough representitive sample (like 10k hands for cash) and was generally wondering if anyone plays SNGs or has any tips, tricks or general advice.
So far ive found the games very soft, does this continue up through the stakes or does it get tougher quickly

how are SNG's boring? i play for an hour and either i bust or get all their chips.
I just sit in ring games playing tiny pots where everyone folds. Becuase of the blind increases in SNG it forces you to play much closer to the edge and extract value from marginal hands. Much more interesting than just nut-peddling in a ring game.
and its not like a MTT where you can play perfect for a few hours and one badbeat and its all been for nothing (see ciso), wheras one double up in an SNG seems to pretty much mean your in the money.

two table it,one cash one mtt
keeps me busy, no biggie when you wait in a mtt and bust out especially if you do well in the cash

+1 here. I had a nice rush a few months back where I took down 3 1st's of the $5.50 18 man SnG's and made the money a few more times and now I haven't won one since then.lol. But yah I usually play cash and an MTT or SnG.
