mucked hand?
Local tourney. Me and one other all in, (7 players sitting) our hands are face up in front of each of us and the deal , (by another player) takes place, on the turn my opp hits a set of fives and there is much whooping. the river give me a straight which I and no-one else spots. I think I've lost, I pick my cards up and throw them forward face up and jokingly say that I hit the flush, the cards are on the muck face up but then because they are now reinspected the straight is seen. Half the table says I've folded, half say I won, after much to-ing and fro-ing, we amicably split the pot. one rule says that the hand is folded immediately it touches the muck, another says it can't be folded if the face up cards are obviously the winning hand, is it my fault that the win wasn't spotted, by the dealer and table, or did my hand hold up? Any help PLEASE.

if the cards are face up because one of you is all in the cards are not mucked.
You would have trouble if the cards were face down, you threw them in and then realised you had a straight.

Re: mucked hand?
no way is your hand mucked..
by getting all in and turning your hand face up you are esentially declairing your hand with proof to everyone at the table...
the board is then run and it doesn't matter what anybody calls their hand out to be the cards play.
once all the cards are dealt you have a straight... the other guy could say, " i have a royal flush" but what you say doesn't make a difference the cards speak for themselves.
had you mucked your hand BEFORE the community cards came out then yes your hand is done but not after.
if some tries to take the pot away from you again you stand up... unbuckle your pants.... pull them down and tell them to kiss your hairy ass. then sit back down and take your chips.
the reason the rule is that when you muck your hand that it is dead is because there is no way to prove what your hand is. this isn't the case.

I hate these situations where not knowing the rules costs someone. You got boned.

cards read plain and simple. Tourney or ring game all in or not you show your cards they are live. I have done that myself in ring games at hard rock didn't see I had hit the straight or the 2cnd pair or something dumb and showed my cards and tossed em . Had the dealer correct me and give me the pot. It happens to everyone at sometime even the best . Thats why cards read
