My Poker Room

Postby hidalgo » Mon Feb 14, 2005 12:10 am GMT

Here is the link to my photo album.

Made the table with a final cost of around $320. Mali Billard Felt. Closed cell foam padding and 1inch foam under leather-like vinyl rails. I used Maui poker's rail and the rest of the instructions from pcpotato.
1000 LAS VEGAS nexgens with custom labels by jason with protective spray.
double deck of kem wide size about 2 years old.
Old chairs stained and reupholstered.
Im looking to get the label design airbrused or sublimination dyed onto the table.

I want to hear what you guys think and any critiques.
Thanks.

That's a pretty good price for all that. I haven't been able to find a good place to buy the legs like the ones you used. The foam I am gonna be ordering, cause I can't find any around here, is gonna run about 30 bucks. Everything else should be pretty much the same. I am gonna probably have to go with folding table legs anyway. Nice table you got there!

With a little customization, even cheaper chips can look almost as good as real casino chips.

And you know what, those cheap chips are getting closer and closer to feeling like casino clays and sounding like them too as evident by people's comments and reviews on pokerchipreviews.com.

Some people won't settle for anything less than the real thing while others can forgo the real thing and go with something close.

The chairs don't match.

Just kidding, great looking table.

I would also like to know where you got the legs, look nice and sturdy.

Pocket snowman and dabear,
I got the bases at a restaurant supply downtown Louisville, Kentucky.
Since that probably doesnt help, look for a place that sells used restaurant equipment. My bases were actually attached to an old dining table and were unscrewed when i bought them. They were each 20 bucks, which is a total steal compared to new ones. They are 30 inches in diameter which makes the table extremely sturdy.
Pocket snowman,
As far as the billard felt I bought it at a local billard shop. Mali is a very common (but high quality) brand. It ran me $1 per running inch. so for a 96 inch table plus a little extra, that was 1/3 of my bugdet, but it certainly paid off.
Pocket snowman,
Both foams that i used, rail and under felt, i purchased in person from baer fabrics. You can purchase online. Great store (and a side note, the largest selection of buttons than any shop in the usa:) here is the underfelt foam.
http://www.baerfabrics.com/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamTxt=&txtsearchParamCat=1412&txtsearchParamType=ALL&txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtFromSearch=fromSearch&iLevel=4&subcat=1412
I used the 1/4 inch and it is too bouncy, so i would recommend getting the 1/8 inch. The chips actually bounce a little bit if they fall on their egdes.
I cant find the rail foam online but you can call their number and ask for the industrial department and it was "1x24x90 high density seating foam" there is a cheaper non-high density seating foam but i chose to pay the extra.
Hope this helps and thanks for the complements.

Nice setup... wish I was so lucky!

How do you like the legs? They look like it might be difficult for the players on the end to slide up to the table as the bases seem quite large.

Thanks for posting,

legs are awesome. On the ends, if the front two legs of the chair are right up to the bases then it puts the persons stomach right at the rail, and no one sits like that so its fine.
