near problem

Postby pat1971 » Mon Apr 07, 2008 10:07 pm GMT

I think I know the answer to this but ill ask.

Three players limp into the flop.

Im one of these hosers.

Flop comes check,check,check

Turn comes check,check,check

River comes check,check,I bet

Fold, Fold

I ask is that everyone and everyone says yes.

I toss my cards into the muck and reach for the chips when someone who didnt do anything announces he still has cards.

I ask where were they he says behind his chips.
I ask why he didnt say anything and why his cards were behind his chips?

He says thats ok I was going to fold.

I end up with the pot and people were a little upset by the fact his cards were hidden.

What would your ruling be here?

Cards should always be visible. In a home game there's usually some yahoo who never seems to understand this. At the games I play in I'll occassionally ask a frequent offender if they have cards just to remid him.

from homepoker.com
Keep your cards and chips in plain view.

Don’t hide your cards. In licensed card rooms, you really can’t even take them off the table without being reminded to put them in front of you. Some home players like to hide their big chips in back of their stack and keep their cards in their laps. This is only going to lead to confusion and missed action. Keep your damned cards on the table. People shouldn’t have to guess if you’re in the hand or not.
