NEED HELP PLEASE (SIMPLE KNOWLEDGE)

Postby caboose333 » Thu Oct 14, 2010 10:38 am GMT

Me and my mates having an "argument" is this possible

a flush using the same cards for a double and the flush EG.

i have [Ks] [Jh]
he has [5d] [Th]
the table has [5h] [3h] [7h] [Qh] [Ah]

He is saying he can use his [5d] and his [Th] as a double and a flush is this correct or can you only use the 5 for a double or [Th] for a flush not both since the [5h] is already used in a previous hand???

please help who wins me or him?

Thank you

Its the best five cards that count, so in your example - you both have a flush

he has [5h] [7h] [Th] [Qh] [Ah]
and you have [5h] [7h] [Jh] [Qh] [Ah]

However you win because your Jack beats his Ten. End of.

As for a 'double' - there's no such hand in holdem. There is a 'pair', but it's worse than a flush so is no help to anyone. You can't use both.

I'm also unsure what the previous hand is or what that has to do with anything.

The pair is meaningless - you use the best five cards to make the hand which is as jimmer has listed above. The [5d] in his hand is completely irrelevant.
