New Trademark Paulson News

Postby Nugzy » Mon Mar 28, 2005 5:30 pm GMT

I just got a call from George Muhoray, Account Manager at Trademark Poker. He told me the new Paulsons are coming April 17th. The inlay will be the same size as it is now, but the mold was changed to fit the smaller inlay. He also told me anything from 1-5,000 chips will be $1.25/chip. For orders between 5,000 and 15,000, pricing will be $.90/chip. For 100,000 chips, pricing is $.75/chip. For orders between 15,000 and 100,000, you should call to discuss pricing. Once he gets a screenshot of the new chips, or any other concrete info, he will let me know.

None of this is news though. The real news would be PICTURES of the new mold, and that's been hard to come by.

Let's just hope it looks like this:

Just imagine the mold fitting the inlay, thats all. I wish they would've enlarged the inlay.

With this said... anyone interested in getting a 10,000+ group chip buy together on these trademarks? I'm too impatient to wait for the Pharaoh's Paulsons, plus I only wanted those if different inlay shapes were allowed. I think it'd be SWEET to get a 100,000 group buy on these Trademarks! .75/paulson is ridiculous, but I find that hard to do with the Pharaoh's Club around. But 10,000 is not out of the question.

Account Manager is another name for salesperson.
Sounds like he's quoting MSRP prices. I'd be more inclined to see what actually comes out on their 5star site when these chips actually do start to ship, and also what their impact might be on the price of other chips on the market if any.

I'd still be interested in what 5star does with this after the chips starts shipping, not what someone may be quoting as retail prices from their retail side of the house. Seems that I hear conflicting stories from 5star customers (mostly good, including my own experiences) and Trademark customers, mostly merchants and buyers for chain stores (mostly mediocre), even though it is common knowledge that they are the same company.

Nugzy, you are a very intelligent and discriminating chip freak (which is WAY above a chip geek). I read your comments on lots of topics, and usually agree.

But I disagree about this subject.

I would be much happier with a different chip mold that has a larger rim area. To me, the more clay that is in contact with the chip above/beneath it in a stack... the better the stacking. And the wider clay rims (especially with a concentric circle) just feel better. The more more clay I feel, and the less decal I feel, the better to me (especially with a smooth shiny decal).

For example, these are some classic molds, which I think are the best type of chips Paulson ever made.

But it's all in the feel, and each his own feel....

I've never seen those chips before; they are really nice. Thank you for posting the pictures Tomb.
