NL$20 - 6 max. Flopped Top Set v Nit, Drawy Board
It's been a while since I posted. It has been a while since I played. Time demands have forced me to get my poker fix in short doses in the 6 max NL games, rather than the SnGs which used to entertain my bored mind.
Villain is tight. I do not use tracker so I have no stats, but for those of you who understand this data, I'd guess at about 15/8 with no evidence of positional awareness over about 50 hands.
The HH isn't precise stackwise, but the necessary information is there. It's VC anyway, and their HH are horrible XML thangs.
Looking for the line which best extracts.
Hero (SB): $20
BB: $20
UTG (Villain): $20
MP: $20
CO: $20
BTN: $20
Pre-Flop: ($0.30) 7
7
dealt to Hero )
Villain Raises $0.80, 3 folds, Hero Calls ($0.70), 1 fold
Flop: ($1.80) 7

Hero ??

bet pot. if u get raised then shove
I did . I was. I did. He called.
He had KK, no club.
In truth I overbet the pot, putting in about $2.50, so that if he did raise my shove wouldn't look too much like a massive overbet. I was concerned that I might miss out on a c-bet, if he's AQo+ and the like. Or he might find it in him to fold non-club overpairs. Is a check-raise not better here? After all it is the line I would take with 8
Can someone with a bit more experience of these tables (i have about 500 hands) indicate whether my thinking is ok here?

The problem with a check raise here, is you have to be sure your opponent will bet. He needs to be aggressive enough to try and take a stab. At NL20 I doubt this may be the case but I have never played that game so I don't know. Another problem with a check raise is if he doesn't bet and a 4/3/8/9 or club rolls off, you have no idea where you are going to be at in the hand.
This is a very draw heavy board and you need to play it straight forward at these stakes IMO.
