Thank's for the heads up. I don't consider this type of post "unwanted spam", but it's close.

However, apart from some of our Canuck brother's on this site, most of us will not be thinking about poker on that day. Hello? It's the freakin' 4th of July man. God Bless America, America the Beautiful, fireworks and barbecue, etc., etc., etc.

And......

Charity tournament=RAKE FEST. I don't understand why these tourneys don't just charge an entry fee like the casino's (i.e. $35 +$10) and keep the entry fee for the charity. Around here in OH, the charity rake is over 50% of the prize pool. I'm all for helping out others, but 50%?

Took a look at your site. So it is not cash payouts? It is prizes of value equal to a certain amount? Why not just list the prizes then instead of the cas Value of the prize.

I don't mind people advertising brick and mortar games here, it doesn't offer them an unscrupulous quick buck from any1 anywhere in the world ;)

The reason is this, LEGAL ISSUES....

We cannot hand you cash without getting into problems (as you know, gambling is not quite "permitted" without a license) however, as our site explains, we will be providing you with a RECEIPT upon which you can do what you please with the prize ~ I'll let you figure out the rest (eg. full refund) as a result, it does not matter what we give out, as long as the value is equivalent. In addition, the prize value will fluctuate depending on the number of players that day.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to email us @ kingstonpokerchallenge@hotmail.com
Hope to see you out there.

Thanks for your concern, but us over here in Canada like to celebrate on July 1st :) haha jokes.

As for the "Rake fest"....please check out our website for clarification on this point. The 1st place gets more than 50% of the prize pool (which is as of now $600 out of $1000; 2nd place $200; 3rd $100; 4th..etc etc). Please note that these figures will escalate as the # of players increases. The remainder (which is much less than 50% by far as you suggested) goes to facility rentals, wages, etc. only THEN does the rest go to CHARITY (which is, may I remind you, the focus of this tourney).

Hope this clarifies any misunderstandings.
Thanks again for your concern.
Hope July 4th is exciting for you whether it be a barbeque or a NL TEXAS HOLD'EM TOURNEY!!
