No sleep 'till...

Postby JohnnyCache » Sat Mar 20, 2004 10:02 am GMT

playing in a short stack free roll on Tournament network. Anyone else in it?

Heh. I've had a great night. I've been up all night. I'm high. I mean, I'm really in the bag. I've had bottle of whiskey and 20+ White russians, and I'm ROARING drunk . . . everyone else has left my house, I can't sleep 'cause the room won't hold still. . . so POKER TIME!

<small voice inside of me>"I'm glad it's a freeroll."

For the record: 128th out of maybe 200!

But that's not bad . . . at the time, my blood would have actually registered as an achoholic beverage...

Too funny JC..

I can play OK w/ moderate alcohol intake, but man not roaring drunk.

I actually took a few (should take 1) Ambien (for insomnia) a couple of nights back and was playing online when they really kicked in...mistakenly I kept on playing while getting knocked friggin loopy. Kind of a surreal experience actually. I seem to recall "nicthestick" of this board playing at the same table. It happened to be a limit table, which prooves how out of it I was as I very rarely play those tables. I learned my lesson not to play while on controlled substances after I lost what I won in a earlier (clear headed) SNG. On the plus side I slept great after that :)

It was only a free roll so thats fine. Now i know you should never play drunk. My friends dad one night saw me playing cards. After 15 mins he started telling everybody i sucked. Everbody was laughing and askign if he was sure. He then asked me how much money i had. And well after i put up with 30 mins of how he would kick my ass in cards i nicely took a couple hundred off him very quickly. He was wasted. Not that it matterd i think he played better wasted then when he was sober.

"wow, you must be the luckiest guy in the world."

I very rarely get drunk . . . It takes so VERY much alchohol that I can't really afford it . . . I wasn't exagerating the amount I'd had over the evening. . . I still wasn't far gone enough to sit down the way I was and play for 'real' money.

One better.

I'm in a casino. I've been there since about 2pm. I started drinking at 3pm. It is now currently 3am and I decide to try my hand at some limit poker (for the record, I haven't played limit in about 6 months). So, when I finally figure out which seat is the real one (hey, there were two of them  ) I sit down at the table. I'm dealt pocket rockets first hand. Woo Hoo. No, not so much. I raise every round and end up having some schmuck draw the straight on the river with his 3/5 offsuit. Needless to say, in my inebriated state, that I go on tilt. I'm laughing at the guy and telling him that if we were playing no limit he'd have never even seen the flop without having to put all of his money on the table. It didn't get better thereafter. I didn't play long though. I wasn't about to put more money on the table in the state I was in-$20 was enough.

Note to self: Do not play limit poker. Do not play liimit poker in a casino. Do not play limit poker in a casino when your BAC is higher than your IQ.
