Postby Ensano » Sun Aug 10, 2008 9:53 pm GMT

curious... how come every time i check there's always a double-digit number of guests viewing the forum... do we really have that much traffic that has nothing to say?

register and let your presence be known already...

I think there's a lot of bots.
Lemme look...
...ya, one's a google bot and I'm too lazy to check any more. I'd say around half of the guests are bots usually?
That means there are actually more unregistered users though. I wouldn't sign up either though. Most of our "Hi, I'm ___ and I look forward to posting here" posts get responded to in the following ways...
1. They get accused of spamming (in our defense though, it's usually for legitimate reasons)
2. Someone drops an inside comment like "fold preflop" and they think they're being made fun of
3. Someone berates them for some undue reason, usually because they are a beginner.

Maybe we should have a "no assholism week for noobs!" or something like that. I'd probably have to temporarily ban a few regulars though.

So with that shining endorsement, any lurkers out there want to reply to this thread?! :)

Notice #1...it is usually a mod who does it...see Geno...lol.

We should have a no assholism week for noobs. I wouldn't ban anyone up front but you might issue a board warning. Then if you find out they are just a spammer...let the board lose on them.

Concentrate on the regulars before the newbies. I still haven't had my custom status changed to THSoP champion 2008. :(
