Omaha just starting
What kind of hands do you play preflop? Obviously, trips in your dealt hand seems like a waste. Thanks

i always much trips unles in bb and can just check :D
other than that u want to be playing only hands where all 4 cards work
together, and also position is more important than in holdem

As the others said, as many live combos as possible. Remember that while you get 4 hole cards, only twice as many as Hold'em, you have 6 possible 2-card combination, so it's like playing 6 Hold'em hands at once. Having all 6 combos live makes a huge difference, but that's somewhat rare. 4 or 5 combinations is decent (as crack said, suited Ace with a 3-straight is good, because the flop will usually solidly define your hand).
It's also pretty important to play combinations that have a good shot at making the nuts. 2233 might look good because you'll flop a set over 20% of the time, but the truth is that bottom set is beat a lot, and almost none of the straights you can make with 32 will be the nut straight.
Having two flush draws is good, but remember that you have to be cautious with non-nut flush draws, because the nut draw is out there a lot more often than you think. I like having these flush draws as sort of a back-up or a "defense," because if you know that two extra hearts (or whatever) are dead, you can play a made hand that much more strongly because you know an opponent has only 7 outs instead of 9 if he's drawing to the nut flush.

The lower the limit, the more you have to chase the nuts..
In micro most pots will be limped (unless you get a LAG that raises every pot).
In 6max I tend to see 40-60% of the flops. Once on the flop try to see the nut. Then look for any redraws.
In multi pots, don't chase draws unless the are for the nuts (for example chasing 9 high flush is stupid)
Combo draws are very strong (often favorite over sets).
Don't slow play anything (even nut flush) Unless you flop Quads, or Top boat.
Don't be surprised when your top boat run into quads, or set over set or someone chase your set with a flush draw and back door into a min str. etc...
Good luck.

I'm seeing most players as being aggressive without a doubt. Last week I was up about $150 in two nights play then it just disappeared. A lot of it was me chasing flushes or sets but also lots of people playing crap, pushing it hard when they should be folding, and then hitting their straights, boats, etc. Quite frustrating. It's a good break from holdem.
