I burnt through 50$ on PS bouncing around from tourney to SNG and a few ring games. Now I've reupped 25 with more clear goals and stringent guidelines about my play. My plan is 9-handed $1 SNG's, as many freeroll MTT's I can get into, and MAYBE the occasional .01/.02 ring game.Well, I really just wanted to get this out there in the open here so I can reference it and stay on track. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to chime in.

Here's a little snippet of a nice kick in the nuts from earlier today. For the record, I'm very rarely shoving here with A-9 especially the way he was chip stacked. Wasn't likely for the blinds to suck him out anytime soon. I played super super tight so he had to have known i had cards.

You got your money is as a favorite, but I raise this pf to 240. Given the limpers ahead of you you want to not give them good odds to hit their hand, and you make it cheap to call. That's not how it went down in this hand, but with a big pp you don't want to see a multiway flop. A standard pf raise is 4BB+1/limper. I will occassionaly paly this slightly different if I really know my opps, which won't be the case often.

New week for the tournaments. Thus far I've had 3 wins and I've failed to cash 4 times. I really want to break into the Mercury Level top 100 on PS. I think it's within my reach.

Poor run of cards this evening, I am sitting at 5 cashes in 12 tournaments, and somehow still $-13.00 on the day. I took a huge hit at the cash tables that reaffirmed my game plan. At least for the moment, I'm strictly a tournament player.

I've done some research. To break into the top 100 last week an average of 21.2 points per SNG was required. I'm sitting at an average of 16.3 points per tournament in my primary Division, and 16.8 points per tournament overall. This is slightly disheartening, but I'm confident my next set of 10 tournaments will be significantly better then the last 10.

Interesting, the SNG leaderboard scores on low orbit are absured compared to those on high orbit. Last week the best total score from 100 consecutive SNG's (High Orbit) was 1822 or an average of 18.2 points per SNG. Whereas the best total score from 20 consecutive SNG's was 596 for an average of 29.8 points per SNG. This would indicate the set of 20 contains some very streaky play. I'd say the #1 Low Orbit spot is won by a guy on a crazy rush. I wouldn't rule out busting into the low orbit top 100 but i find the high orbit to be much more likely. If I were able to maintain an average of 16.3 points per SNG over the course of 100 SNG's I would land right in the top 10 for the high orbit top 100.

For anyone not using PokerStars, your entry into the top 100 is your best block of 20 games for low orbit, and your best block of 100 games for high orbit. Placing in the top 15% (correct me if im wrong on that one) gives you a score which you accumulate for your leaderboard score.

The top scores are all crazy hot streaks. Those Stars donkaments are the very definition of variance; shoving with more than 85% equity is a surefire way to bust. Just ask Ciso.

This is the only good thing to ever happen to me in a ring game. Before I make this call I tell myself A-3 has me crushed and I accept that. But I'm also thinking, what are the odds he has A-3 on that flop? He did, I make the call and running fours saves me. Are you guys folding here?

never fold a set at these limits. Also, you have like half a buyin, even more reason to go broke.

To be completely honest, I'm not trying to impose on anyone here. I'm posting in my own thread. I don't think your opinion on the worthiness of my post has any relevance whatsoever. This is an open forum, and I haven't violated any rules. I liked the hand because I've seen so many discussions and whine threads about being dealt two aces in the hole, I felt it was pertinant. Whether or not anyone "cares" to read it? Why not let them be the judge.

Yes if only we had a forum devoted to exactly these types of useless masturbatory hands.

Oh wait!

Judging by your personality, for future reference we also have a bad beats forum. *cough*.

On whose authority are you regulating the flow of posts? Is Online Texas Hold'em exclusively your jurisdiction or do you harrass people in all the different forums?

If you had any sense at all you would scan the front page of this particular forum and find countless "good read", "bad beat", and "big pot" threads. I'm just trying to share an experience and absorb the community available to me here.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
